[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Aussie Icon, the “Real Thing” Russell Morris, will headline the 5th addition of the Girrakool Blues Festival and BBQ, along with Son of Jimmy Vaughan (Nephew of Texan Blues Legend Stevie Ray Vaughan) Tyrone Vaughan (USA), and Sacred Steel phenomenon Nikki Brown teaming up with Australian Slide Guitarist Dom Turner as The Turner Brown Band (USA/AUS).

While staying true to the Blues, Girrakool BF always offers a range of well-known acts, re-knowned internationals and seasoned Aussies Blues Bands, while giving the local blues acts and youth a go on an international stage.

“Blues is rising in popularity in Australia every year, but we are now the only music festival on the Kariong Mountain this year,” says Festival Director, Bruce Johnson, “And I will guarantee there will be music that will cater to everyone, young and old alike.”

For the blues enthusiasts #guitarfriday, will see young gun Jesse Redwing; Chicago Blues Band Tom Cat Playground; Australia’s premier blues guitarist Ray Beadle; and finishing with some Texan blues with Texan Blues Hall of Famer Tyrone Vaughan (USA) with the Darren Jack Band.

“I’m extremely pleased of the line-up this year. As in past years, it’s hard to say any one band is better than the next – there’s no fillers here – because they are all picked because of their world class, high level of performance, and, as blues does so well, creates an emotional response that’s infectious.”

Saturday will be wall to wall music for festival goers starting with Blues comp winners Mirrakooka; 70’s soul style band Rambal(VIC); Janis Joplin-esque singer songstress Cass Eager & the Velvet Rope; four of Australia’s leading blues players join forces to salute 4 the “King(s)” of Blues, with All the Kings Men, of Dynamic Hypnotics fame Continental Robert & the Trouble People, Australia’s foremost indigenous female blues writer and performer, Marlene Cummings; high energy Blue-Billy-Grass-Rockin’ band 19-Twenty, followed by an uplifting gospel blues musical feast  with the Turner Brown Band (USA/AUS) and finishing the night with a psychedelic trip down memory lane with Russell Morris.
